Newly appointed Deputy Country Director for UK Nigeria Tech Hub, Lamide Johnson has said that he will use his skills and expertise to support the growth of technology space in Africa.

Johnson in the past nine years has used his technology skills and experience to support entrepreneurs in the tech space to create more innovations and possibilities.

The UK-Nigeria Tech Hub works to stimulate the local digital economy, support inclusive and sustainable economic growth and jobs using digital skills and forge innovation partnerships between local tech sectors and international businesses.

Johnson was trained in Business and Entrepreneurship at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, Illinois, USA. Johnson is also a Mandela Washington Fellow and a Gates Foundation Goalkeeper.

In his latest role prior to joining UK Nigeria Tech Hub, Johnson has held the position of Director of Partnerships and Engagement at Ventures Platform where he managed strategic partnership efforts. Johnson also held the position of Chief of Staff to Kola Aina.

In his new role, Johnson will be working with a team of tech enthusiasts to help build the Nigerian tech ecosystem, designing and implementing digital skills programmes to drive sustainable jobs and growth as well as forging partnerships between the UK and tech startups in Nigeria.
