Founders, Flying Doctors Nigeria, Olamide Brown has revealed that she got her first set of staff from Daystar Christian Center when she was starting her business at Allen Avenue in Ikeja, Lagos.
Brown said in a video testimony with Daystar Christian Center to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the church.
In her words, she explained that the church has positively impacted her life so much that she made made good friends from that also helped her when starting out.
“I started attending Daystar ten years ago when I returned from England and I needed to start a business, but didn’t know anybody and how to start the business,
After starting the business, I wasbattending business and leadership sessions to learn how to run the business and today, I thank God for where we are”, she said.
Brown who is a medical doctor is also training to be a pilot and cares deeply about healthcare, women and entrepreneurship in Africa.
From her office in Allen Avenue, she said she has been able to build the largest air ambulance services company in West Africa, expanding into financial technology, health, and integrating into other health value chains.
Alongside her work at Flying Doctors, she and other partners now run an early-stage venture capital firm, Greentree Investment Company which provides growth capital to some of Africa’s technology start-ups.
The investment company operates a startup lab that supports entrepreneurs to grow sustainable businesses and also invests in some notable African start-ups including Paystack, Precurio and Big Cabal Media with a portfolio of $80m that cuts across various sectors that including healthcare technology, fintech, media, saas, agri-tech, manufacturing and e-commerce, and edutech.
