The application that was launched on Monday at the association’s headquarter in Oshodi had in attendance the State Chairman of the association,  executives of Univasa Nigeria, and members of the Lagos State Taxi Driver and Cab Operators Association.

Speaking during the launch, President, LSTDCOA, Taiwo Omolekan said that the innovation Univasa Nigeria has brought to them is laudable and described it as what will improve the way they have been doing business.

Omolekan pointed that the taxi app came at the right time, adding that the association is ready to embrace the Univasa taxi apps for all the drivers and the general public.

“Since the introduction of taxi application in Lagos, the association has been in touch with various partners on how to get a befitting app that is users friendly for all our teaming members across the state, and we are very happy that Univasa Nigeria has brought one for us”, he said.

Speaking of the partnership and the launch, Chief Executive Officer of Univasa Nigeria, Dr. Ben Adeniyi explained that ‘Baba Dey Online’ innovation was birthed to ease the stress of riders who still go to taxi parks to order rides, pointing that they could only achieve the innovation with the support of the association.

He said that the application can be used both online and offline for users to download on IOS and Google Playstore, “we understand that some of them may not have data, that’s why the feature can also be used offline on the application by calling our hotlines where a driver will be directed to the customers”,

Univasa Nigeria has a high hunger for technology, using innovation to achieve things faster. We still have a long way to go because of our vision, but we can tell you that we are on the right path. Our hunger for innovation and technology gave birth to what we are doing today”, Adeniyi explained.

Omolekan later urged the state government to give drivers using the application equal opportunity to access all roads and estates as practiced by other ride-hailing drivers.
