After nearly nine years as the Chief Executive Officer of YouTube, Susan Wojcicki has announced that she will be stepping down from her position to focus on her family, health, and personal projects.
In a statement released on Thursday, Wojcicki expressed her confidence in the current leadership team at YouTube and stated that the time was right for her to make this decision.

Wojcicki, who had been with Google since 1999, was the 16th employee to join the company.
She worked as Google’s first marketing manager in 1999, and later led the company’s online advertising business and original video service.

She played a critical role in bringing in a strong leadership team when she first joined YouTube, and now feels confident that the team is well-equipped to continue leading the company.

Wojcicki will be replaced by Neal Mohan, who is currently the head of product at YouTube. Mohan has been a leader at Google for over 15 years, and Wojcicki has worked with him extensively throughout his career.
Wojcicki expressed her confidence in Mohan and believes that he is the right person to take on the role of SVP and new head of YouTube.
