In a captivating address at the 71st Induction Ceremony for the 2010 Associate Chartered Accountants (ACA) Members, Head of Internal Audit at FBN Holdings PLC, Dr Bode Oguntoke delivered an inspiring speech on the topic of “The Baking of a Professional Accountant – Excellence at Every Stage of Professional Life.”

Drawing analogies from the art of baking, Dr. Oguntoke shared valuable insights on personal growth, professional development, and the significance of vision in the pursuit of success.

Using the analogy of cake making, Dr Oguntoke further elucidated on the significance of personal development and becoming an excellent professional.

“Just as the quality of a cake is a reflection of the baker’s skill, a professional’s excellence is a testament to their investment in personal growth and development.”

He emphasized the importance of talent acquisition and retention, urging aspiring accountants to assess their marketability and strive to become relevant and indispensable in their field.

Comparable to the careful mixing and balancing of ingredients in baking, Dr Oguntoke emphasized the need for professionals to pay attention to each aspect of their development.

Furthermore, he holds prestigious certifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), and Certified in Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT). Notably, Dr Oguntoke is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and an Honourary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIB).
